Comparison
VPSoto vs Hetzner Cloud — the honest comparison
Hetzner Cloud sets the price floor for European VPS. VPSoto gives up a little on raw EUR-per-vCPU for far wider geography, more currencies, crypto checkout, and IPv4 in the base price.
The honest take
Hetzner is the value benchmark — their CX (Intel), CPX (AMD), and especially CAX (Ampere ARM) instances are about as cheap as honest, well-engineered cloud VPS gets, with a genuinely good console, load balancers, and managed Kubernetes. If you're in Germany, Finland, the US, or Singapore and you want the cheapest solid box, Hetzner is hard to beat on price alone.
Where Hetzner stops is geography and payment. They run a handful of datacenter regions — Germany, Finland, the US, Singapore — nothing in the Middle East, South Asia, the Balkans, Africa, or most of APAC. They bill in EUR and USD only, don't take crypto, and as of mid-2024 add a per-month surcharge for the IPv4 address (free only if you go IPv6-only). VPSoto covers 19 cities — including Dubai, Riyadh, Karachi, Istanbul, Tirana — bills in five currencies, takes crypto, and includes an IPv4 in every plan. We're not cheaper than Hetzner per vCPU; we're reachable where Hetzner isn't, and we don't nickel-and-dime the IP.
Hetzner wins at
- Raw price per vCPU — especially the ARM-based CAX line; few hosts undercut it.
- Self-service console: instant provisioning, snapshots, firewalls, load balancers, managed Kubernetes, an official Terraform provider.
- Network throughput on the cheap tiers — Hetzner's entry plans aren't port-throttled the way some budget hosts are.
VPSoto wins at
- 19 cities vs ~four datacenter regions — including MENA, South Asia, the Balkans, and Africa, which Hetzner doesn't serve.
- Five billing currencies (USD, GBP, EUR, SAR, PKR) vs EUR + USD.
- Crypto checkout (BTC, USDT, ETH and more) — Hetzner is card / SEPA only.
- IPv4 included in the base price — Hetzner now charges a monthly surcharge per IPv4.

Pick VPSoto if you're
Anyone who needs a server outside Hetzner's four regions, wants to pay in GBP/SAR/PKR or crypto, or wants the IPv4 in the price — and is fine with hand-checked provisioning.
Pick Hetznerif you're
EU/US/Singapore projects that want the cheapest solid box per vCPU plus self-service tooling (instant deploy, managed k8s, Terraform).
FAQ
- Is VPSoto cheaper than Hetzner?
- Not per vCPU — Hetzner's CX and CAX (ARM) instances are about as cheap as well-built cloud VPS gets. VPSoto is competitive but not the floor. Where we come out ahead on total cost is the IPv4 (we include it; Hetzner now surcharges) and reaching cities Hetzner doesn't serve at all — there the comparison isn't price, it's whether the server exists.
- Does Hetzner have a datacenter in Dubai, Karachi, Riyadh, or Istanbul?
- No. Hetzner runs datacenters in Germany, Finland, the US, and Singapore. For low latency to the Gulf, South Asia, the Balkans, or Africa, VPSoto has cities there — Hetzner doesn't.
- Can I pay Hetzner in crypto or in GBP/PKR?
- No — Hetzner bills in EUR and USD, by card or SEPA. VPSoto bills in USD, GBP, EUR, SAR, and PKR, and accepts BTC, USDT, ETH and other crypto.
- Why is Hetzner instant and VPSoto isn't?
- Hetzner is fully self-service — you click, the VM exists. VPSoto provisions each order by hand (it's a small operator team reselling 19 wholesale networks), so a VPS is typically live within 1–2 hours of payment, a dedicated server within 24. If instant self-service is non-negotiable, Hetzner wins that point.
